APW - Illinois, Chesapeake & Ohio Special, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF case, "R.C. Acton & Son, Alexandria, VA" marked white enamel DS Gothic numeral dial, SW-LS, nickel damascene, gilt mvt screws and regulator assembly, s#1248366. A rare and desirable railroad marking, the movement of this example is from a run of Bunn grade production.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, few micro-fine scratches and mild very small surface spots, balance jewel setting with one mismatched screw; dial with small patched chip to inner rim of outer chapter below 1, scattered outer chapter fractures and hls, small flake to left rim of center hole, edge flake at setting lever area, small edge chip under bezel at 1:30; fine hands, minute with oxide to its fleur-de-lis; case shows medium wear, some small nicks, no dents, strips of wear to brass following portions of band seams; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good thick glass crystal with glue excess at its seat.
